Welcome to The Friends of Bellerose Playground

Picture
Friends of Bellerose Playground was created in 2014 by local community members and civic organizations.  It was started by a common wish in our community and that is to restore and upgrade the Bellerose Playground.  We are located in Bellerose, Queens, New York.

Bellerose Playground has been lacking in capital investment and slowly beginning to become worn and old.

We are coming together as neighbors to advocate for our park by reaching out to and working in conjunction with local elected officials, New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. and the City of New York in order to see this dream become a reality.

Please join in this journey with your neighbors to make Bellerose Playground a playground that we can all be proud of.

Bellerose Playground Spruce Up was a Success!
  • We had a great turn out at the Bellerose Playground Spruce Up hosted by Senator Avella.  We had many of our community members come out and join the Senator in Painting fences, playground equipment, benches, etc..

Our gratitude to Senator Avella for sponsoring this event and for taking interest in our community and doing his part in making it a better place for all of us.  Gratitude also goes to Joe Block from Parks for providing the paint brushes, paint, gloves and guidance for this project.  We also wish to thank Principal Marianne Sheridan of PS 133 for hosting and coming out and helping with the painting.

Thanks to all our community members that took interest in this project and actually came out to help. It was a lovely day for painting and being out doors.

This event was a success.  If you have an opportunity, come out to the playground and see the great job that was done.

Pictures of the event can be viewed HERE.
